We recently received a lovely email from Shanae.
Hello Ennerdale,
“My friend Chloe is highland cow crazy. We both study veterinary Technology at Charles Sturt university and will be passing through on Thursday. I was wondering as a surprise for her 20th birthday if you would have about 15-30 mins of you afternoon to spare for her to potentially pet but at least get photos of and with your herd it would be one thing she’s able to check off her bucket list
I understand this is super short notice and you may be extremely busy but if you’re able to have us stop by it would be an unforgettable experience. I stumbled across you guys on Facebook and thought it would be the best birthday present to give her.”
Even though we have had Highland Cattle for 25 years we still will never forget our first experiences with them in the paddock. We were so excited when we realised we would be home when the girls wanted to call by.
Shanea arrived at the door and explained she had Chloe blindfolded in the car. So quietly she walked Chloe into the house paddock where we had two young steers and a bull calf recently weaned, whom we have been hand feeding to quiet down prior to going to their new forever homes. Chloe’s response when she took off the blindfold was beautiful. Tears of joy. Chloe couldn’t believe it when she realised there were more cattle and she got to go in the paddock with them.
Shanea bought a bale of lucerne hay which the girls enjoyed!!
It was a lovely experience for us to see the girls having a great time with the cattle.
Happy Birthday Chloe and we wish you both all the best with your studies. You are both welcome at Ennerdale any time.
