Baidhel is a charmer, so relaxed and easy to handle.  As a young bull, he showed true potential, and this carried on as he became Grand Champion Highland Bull at the Royal Canberra Show the year after winning Junior Champion Bull in two states, again at Royal Show level.

With Ennerdale champions for his Dam and Sire, he has had a great start from high-quality genetics!

He shows excellent mobility, strength in muscle as well as a good long balanced carcase.  He has a good deal of young progeny on the ground ready for viewing.

A full out cross true to type Black Highland Bull which provides the unique opportunity to acquire outstanding Stepdancer blood lines from perhaps the finest Bull ever to be imported into Scotland.

This is a top performing pedigree which is all quality, Uallach Dubh the 5th of Pollok is structurally correct, packed with muscle and possesses a rock solid temperament which ensures this Highland bull will significantly improve any folds genetics.

We first saw Uallach Dubh 5th in 2008 when we attended the international highland gathering, at Pollok Fold in Glasgow.  At first glance we realised the bull had tremendous potential. His outstanding Dam is the Champion Una Dubh the 8th of Pollok from the Black Pollok Bloodline, whom we were able to brush in the paddock which was a great indicator of her temperament. We were also able to see her udder, feet and were impressed with the extreme quality of the overall package.

On our next visit to Pollok in 2011 we were able to see Uallach 5th's progression and also check his progeny.  Out of all the Pollok folds breeding this line was outstanding.  We were still extremely impressed with Uallach Dubh the 5th, we approached Pollok and Glasgow City Council who agreed to us leasing the bull to collect and import his genetics to Australia.

We believe he is the best bull to be exported from Scotland into Australia in many years.

Toiseach Ban of Ennerdale

Australian Champion Highland Bull.

The day Toiseach was born an older cattle farmer with a wealth of knowledge visited the farm.  He commented on the new calf and his comments were admirable!

As Toiseach was growing up we could see potential, so he was kept as a breeding bull.  When shown in two states he won Champion Highland Bull at both.  

His Sire Rushmore Bracken sold for 18000 Guineas at the Oban sale in 1992. A Royal Highland Show Champion Highland Bull whose genetics were imported to Australia.  

We visited Cim Fold near Oswestry in Shropshire to assess the progeny of Rushmore Bracken for ourselves.  We were very pleased with their temperament, feet and conformation, so we assessed they were of a quality suitable for using Rushmore Bracken genetics in our own highland fold.

We carefully selected the right Dam, a very solid , well framed, structurally sound cow who had very similar bloodlines to Susan Elders Australian Champion Cow Woodgee of Durness.  The resulting offspring was Toiseach Ban - our assessments were correct and he was an ideal type of bull to carry the Ennerdale Highlands name forward.

Toiseach Ban has been a valued asset to our breeding programme.  His body is solid muscle from neck to tail and he throws this in his progeny who develop magnificent carcases. Toiseach Ban is a bull with :-
